I was going through the pages of a reputed online magazine the other day when I came across a picture of the singing superstar Jennifer Lopez from a few weeks ago. I could not help myself as I stared at the perfection of her face. Flipping through pages after pages of magazines after magazines, the only conclusion I could come to was that she definitely has a guardian angel that looks after her skin. WoW is the only word which can probably describe my reaction.

Aged 43, and a mother of beautiful twins Maximillian and Emme, Jennifer has lost none of the charm she had a decade earlier.
I tried digging a little deeper in order to find out what exactly makes her look like a million bucks even at the ripe old age of 40. I came across a variety of alleged rumours and speculations which may or may not be true but nonetheless will make you want to try them.

The first thing that comes to mind is probably she’s got a cosmetic surgery done. Maybe going for a little Botox here and there, a nip here, a tuck there. Now magazine alleges that Jen goes through these facials twice a week at a cost of £700. Wow some expense for staying young and beautiful. Now magazine’s insider speaks up saying ‘They cost her over a thousand dollars a week but she swears by them. She loves that it’s natural with no harsh chemicals. ‘She knows it might not be for everyone but the facials make her look good and that helps her relax.’
Now we know it’s definitely not for everyone. When asked, Jennifer obviously denies any such treatments. Instead, we get a bunch of tips from her how she stays fit, young and beautiful.“Beauty comes from inside,” says Lopez. “It’s been said many times, but I believe it’s the truth.” WebMD the Magazine quotes her as saying.

Here’s what Jennifer has to say about her beauty secrets.

“Take time for yourself”, she says. “When you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, you are a better person and parent. That doesn’t require a week at a spa”. “I just breathe and clear my mind whenever I have a moment. Sometimes we just have to do nothing, just breathe.”
I say fabulous thought Jennifer. We should definitely do a little self-analysis every now and then. Love yourself. The more you love yourself, the more you’ll look good to others.

“Let whimsy be your stylist”, She says, “In terms of style, I encourage other women to first be comfortable but have fun. Life is meant to be fun!”

Scissor jacks

Stand keeping your feet together and arms by sides. Jump up by bringing your right foot ahead and left one back and swing your left arm up by ear and the right one by back. Jump again immediately after landing slowly. Quickly switch your feet and arms such as a pair of scissors. It is one repetition. Do the same 20 times. It works on your entire body.

Glute Bridge

Lie down facing ceiling. Bent your knees and keep hip width, arms by sides and feet flexed. Press your palms on the floor. Lift hips up and brace abs, squeezing glutes as pelvis lifts. Hold this position for a minute and thereafter start lowering hips. Repeat the session 15-20 times. This will help you in strengthening the core.

Tabletop

Sit down with your knees bent. Keep feet apart and hands behind the body. Place fingers facing to your hips. Tight your abs and lift the hips off the.floor with shoulders and knees. Keep this position for a minute and comeback to start again. Do 10-15 repetitions. It will help you in obtaining a stronger physique.

Narrow squats

Stand keeping feet together and arms by sides. Curve your knees and sit into hips. In order to engage your inner thighs, squeeze knees and keep arms overhead and keep the palms facing each other. Place your chin down towards chest and fetch your arms to the outsides of ears. Avoid neck strain. Go back to start it again. Do the entire session 10-20 times. It will bring strength to your legs, upper back, shoulders and cores.

Oblique crunch

Stand keeping feet apart. Keep your knees slightly curved and place your hands clasped behind the head. Tight your abs, keep elbows open, lift the right knee and bend your left shoulder towards leg. Come back to start it immediately on the opposite side. It is one session. Repeat the entire session 20 times. Through it, you will be able to improve your coordination and balance.

Bent your knees, keep your feet flat and tilt your back after sitting on the floor. Extend your legs to make a right angle. Pull your abs in to a balance. Keep your arms at your shoulder height and past your knees. Stay in this position for five slow breaths and come back to your previous position. Repeat the entire session 5 times a day.

How to Prepare Tasty Gobi Korma

Gobi (cauliflower) is the favourite vegetable of Indians. Available from October to February-March, it is used to prepare several healthy dishes. In our series of fitness recipe, we have come up with a recipe of delicious Gobi Korma. Arrange all the below mentioned ingredients and prepare this tasty dish for your family members.

Gobi Korma

Ingredients
  • Cauliflower 1 (medium)
  • Coriander powder ½ tsp
  • Chilli powder ½ tsp
  • Cashew paste 1 ½ tbsp
  • Coconut milk ½ cup
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Garam masala ½ tsp
  • Ghee 1 tsp
  • Oil 25 ml
  • Raisin 1 tbsp
  • Salt and sugar to taste
  • Turmeric powder ½ tsp
  • 1 Onion boiled and cut
Method
  • Make several small cubes of cauliflower.
  • Put a pan/kadhai on the stove and heat the oil.
  • Coat the cauliflower cubes before frying them.
  • Mix ginger paste, onion, coriander and chilli in that oil and fry the... mixture.
  • When the spice gets separated from the oil, add sugar, cashew paste, salt and raisin. Keep frying.
  • Add water and the coconut milk in the end.
  • Add ghee and garam masala when the cauliflower pieces get soft.
  • Serve it.
  • You can add a dollop of fresh cream as a garnish on the top for a different taste.
